International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI), Ministry of Intellectual Property
AI skills program for Ministry of Intellectual Property staff
About the program
Intellectual property work is dense with documents. Staff move between patent specifications, examination records, statutes, and prior art, reading and judging as they go. Time spent reading and organizing is the job. We split participants into groups and ran four rounds. It opened by setting expectations about what AI can do, then moved into summarizing and comparing long documents and locating the evidence needed. An assistant instructor worked the room so anyone stuck during practice got help immediately. ChatGPT procurement ran alongside the training, so the methods did not stay in the classroom.
