Staff development program and AI training for college administration
About the program
University administration handles different documents in every office — academic affairs, admissions, industry partnerships, general affairs — but finding material, organizing it, and turning it into a report is common to all of them. The program started from that common ground. A staff development session brought everyone to the same level first, then a separate hands-on AI course let people work with the tools in a lab environment. The hands-on rounds ran in the computer lab so every participant could follow on their own screen. They tracked a real workflow: gathering material with deep research, organizing documents and data into a finished piece, and producing visuals.
What we ran
Two stages: an all-staff session to set a common baseline, then lab rounds where people worked the tools themselves
How the course was designed
Topics chosen from work common across university administration rather than any one office's specialty
Listening sessions separated from doing sessions, with the lab rounds run one PC per participant
Several tools covered by purpose, so staff can choose what fits the situation
What it covered
Staff development program
An all-staff session mapping what generative AI can do and where it fits administrative work
Research and deep research
Gathering the material you need with its sources, and organizing it
Working with documents and data
Turning material you already hold into an organized, finished piece
Producing visuals
Hands-on production, making administrative material presentable
How it ran
Rounds split between group sessions in the international conference room and lab-based training
One PC per participant for every hands-on round
